Federal prison sentence issued for man caught in significant Nanaimo drug bust
NANAIMO — A longtime drug addict was handed six years in prison following a high-profile drug seizure in downtown Nanaimo.
Terrance Guy Virus, 40, who pleaded guilty to four drug trafficking charges involving substantial quantities of fentanyl, carfentanil and crystal meth, was sentenced on Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Nanaimo.
He was arrested on Jan. 17, 2021 outside Port Place shopping centre, with police finding 250 grams of primarily fentanyl and carfentanil with an estimated street value of between $21,000 and $31,000.
The volume of drugs confiscated is equal to over 2,500 individual doses of the various drugs.
