NANAIMO – Two clinics involved in testing and vaccinations for COVID-19 are being consolidated, according to Island Health.

The Beban Park immunization clinic and the VIU testing and collection clinic are coming together at one location, the Nanaimo North Town Centre, located at 4750 Rutherford Rd. They will both be in the same location, unit #114, the former location of Urban Planet, but will be separated by a wall with individual entrances and exits.

The new testing and collection site opened on Tuesday, Nov. 9, and appointments can be made daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Testing is by appointment only, and drop-ins will not be accepted. Access is located via the exterior of the mall.

The immunization clinic will open next Tuesday, Nov. 16, and has enough space to safely accommodate everyone who is currently eligible for a vaccine. Appointments are recommended and required if you require a booster dose.
