B.C. averages 523 new COVID-19 cases daily during Thanksgiving weekend; 28 more die
VICTORIA — B.C. saw a slight moderating of COVID-19 spread over the Thanksgiving long weekend, but the death toll from the virus continues to mount.
New totals provided by the province’s health ministry Tuesday (Oct. 12) show 2,090 new cases recorded over the past four days, or an average 523 per day. That includes 385 new cases on Tuesday and 404 total in Interior Health.
There are now 5,183 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C., including 841 in Interior Health.
The ministry reports 357 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 153 in intensive care.
