B.C. finance minister to provide financial update for April to June
VICTORIA — British Columbia’s finance minister is set to provide an update today on the province’s finances, economy and first quarter results from April to June.
The last update from Selina Robinson showed the COVID-19 pandemic was battering the province’s bottom line, but the effects hadn’t been as bad as feared.
Robinson reported in July that the deficit of $5.46 billion for the 2020-21 fiscal year that ended March 31 had come in nearly $3 billion lower than forecast.
She told a press conference at the time that public accounts showed B.C. had spent more than $10 billion on COVID-19 response and recovery programs.
