PARKSVILLE — Oceanside RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying two people inside a stolen vehicle involved in a weekend crash.

Police were called to the scene, north of Qualicum Beach on Hwy. 19 near Horne Lake Rd. around 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 14.

Witnesses said the vehicle with a man and woman inside crossed the centre median of the Inland Island Hwy, lost control and rolled into the southbound lane. The two allegedly left and appeared injured.

A loaded gun was found by police inside the vehicle. Officers said the firearm was reported stolen in Comox a few days prior.

“The man and woman fled on a green dirt bike which had been in the rear of the truck. They were last seen traveling northbound on Highway 19 and onto a trail system. The dirt bike was later found to have crashed near the Inland Highway,” a release from the RCMP stated.

Police determined the vehicle was stolen and the two suspects were not located by officers and a police dog.

If you have any information on the identity or location of the man and woman involved in this incident, please contact Oceanside RCMP at 250 248 6111.
