NANAIMO — The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District is once again warning of a COVID-19 exposure.

SD68 confirmed an additional exposure at NDSS, the second such announcement in as many days, the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The exposure date is Feb. 5, making one of the few recent exposure events which didn’t stretch over multiple days.

NDSS now has COVID-19 exposure dates from Jan. 27 to Feb. 5.

Island Health will contact anyone who may have come in contact with the person at the centre of the exposure.

NDSS, according to Island Health, is one of six Nanaimo schools currently listed on the school exposure page.

It and nearby John Barsby are the only two secondary schools.

The central Vancouver Island area remains a COVID-19 hotspot, with roughly two-thirds of Island Health’s currently active COVID-19 cases.
