New look Salvation Army kettle campaign rolls out through Nanaimo
NANAIMO — It’s not officially the holiday season until the familiar sound of kettle bells ring.
The Nanaimo Salvation Army’s kettle campaign began on Friday, Nov. 20 is will continue through to Christmas.
Organizers are hopeful to raise $280,000 during this year’s campaign, an ambitious goal given a reduction in volunteers and kettle locations.
“We have had one or two (businesses) that because of the social distancing that we aren’t able to be at that location,” Dawne Anderson, organizer for the Salvation Army, said.
