WHISKEY CREEK — Investigators believe a driver may have unknowingly helped two people flee the scene of a gruesome triple homicide in Whiskey Creek.

RCMP Cpl. Chris Manseau said the ongoing investigation into the murders in a gravel pit near Whiskey Creek on Sunday, Nov. 1 discovered an additional two people may have been involved.

“It’s believed two individuals near the scene on Hwy. 19 in the early morning of Nov. 1 may have flagged down a motorist driving a light coloured sedan who provided them with a ride,” Manseau said.

“The driver who picked up these individuals is being asked to reach out to police. They unknowingly may have information crucial to this investigation.”

He clarified the two people who left the area are not considered suspects at this time.

“We’re just looking to speak to them to see what they know of that scene, but they’re not considered suspects.”

Police are also asking anyone who was in the area the night of Oct. 31 and morning of Nov. 1, specifically dirt bikers and quad riders who visited the popular area.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has gathered all the physical evidence from the scene near the Melrose Forest Service Road.

On the Sunday, the first of three bodies was found on the road. Two more were discovered inside a burned out travel trailer.

A fourth man on scene was found with gunshot wounds and taken to hospital. He was last listed as being in stable condition.
