Biography:

Michelle Stilwell has served as the MLA since 2013. She has helped to deliver much-needed provincial investments in infrastructure, community services, and local business in our growing Nanaimo community.

Michelle was first elected in 2013 and re-elected in 2017. She has served as a Cabinet Minister, Government Caucus Chair, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health for Seniors.

Michelle has served as Opposition Critic for Tourism, Hospitality, and Sport, deputy chair of the Select Standing Committee on Children and Youth, and a member of the Special Committee on Reforming the Police Act.

Prior to entering public service, Michelle competed in elite sport and was an active community advocate for persons with disabilities and children with special needs. She is a six-time Paralympic gold medalist, nine-time World Champion, and holds two world records.
