Delayed property tax deadline looms, late payment penalties apply Oct. 1

Sep 25, 2020 | 6:04 AM

NANAIMO — Time is running out to pay your property tax bill and avoid late fees.

Late payment penalities of five per cent apply in all mid island municipalities on Oct. 1.

The payment windows were pushed back from the usual early July deadline in Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Lantzville, Parksville and Qualicum Beach as a COVID-19 relief measure.

Taxes were due on July 2 for electoral areas of the Regional District of Nanaimo.
