Vancouver Island escapes new COVID-19 cases after high weekend case count

NANAIMO — New COVID-19 cases in the province continue to be reported at a steady rate.

A statement from provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed 96 new cases on Tuesday, Sept. 22, none of which are in the Island Health region.

No new COVID cases regionally on Tuesday follows the seven new cases of COVID-19 reported over the previous three days.

The seven cases marked the highest amount of new cases reported after a weekend.
