3 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Island Health

NANAIMO — A high mid-week surge in new COVID-19 cases brought three new to the Island Health region.

A joint statement from provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and health minister Adrian Dix on Wednesday, Sept. 2 confirmed a total of 104 new COVID-19 cases for all of B.C.

Three new Island Health cases were confirmed for a total of 178. There remains seven active cases within Island Health.

The number of active cases across the province grew by three to 1,127. The number of people in hospital also inched upwards to 33, with 14 in intensive care.
