NANAIMO — Each week we feature animals currently awaiting adoption at the Nanaimo SPCA.

Thankfully there are no animals currently in care, so we’re taking a look at animals which were adopted and have found their forever homes.

Nico is a very special Siamese mix who wouldn’t be here today without generous help from others.

He was born with inverted eyelids, which means his hair would painfully scrape on his eyes.

Thankfully the community rallied and donations flooded in to the Campbell River SPCA to fund his surgery.

His new owners adopted him two weeks ago and say he’s all healed now.

“He’s such a love and a delightful little buddy.”

More than 700 animals were adopted from the Nanaimo SPCA in 2019.

You can read about all the great animals adopted from the Nanaimo SPCA here.

As part of our Pet of the Week feature, we’re asking owners to send us photos and some details about their adorable adopted animals to the email address below.
