NANAIMO — After days of keeping the COVID-19 curve flat on Vancouver Island, the total of confirmed cases has increased by one.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed the 126th active or resolved case of COVID-19 in the Island Health region on Thursday, May 14.

The BC CDC later said the addition was a result of a data error and not a new confirmed positive test in the last 24 hours.

This is the first time in almost a week the number of cases cases confirmed on Vancouver Island has gone up. The total had been steady at 125 since Friday, May 8.
