Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced no new cases of the virus in the Island Health region during her Wednesday, May 13 briefing.

Across the province, 16 additional COVID-19 cases and one additional death were announced.

Dr. Henry said the 50 people maximum order for public gatherings will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

She said the number of hospitalizations dropped from 63 to 59, while the number of intensive care patients fell from 16 to 14.
