NANAIMO — Vancouver Island is on the longest stretch of days with no confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced the number of cases remains at 125 on the Island, as it has since May 8. One person remains in hospital but not in the ICU.

Only seven new cases were confirmed across B.C. This is the lowest number of new cases since March 9, before the province declared a provincial health emergency.

Unfortunately, Dr. Henry did announce one additional death in the Fraser Health region.
