COVID-19 hospitalizations tick up on Vancouver Island

NANAIMO — The number of people in Vancouver Island hospitals for COVID-19 has climbed.

Health minister Adrian Dix said six people are now in hospital on Vancouver Island, up from five during the last news conference on Saturday, April 25.

Fifty new cases were announced since Saturday, bringing the total in B.C. to 1,998.

There is now 117 cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Vancouver Island since the first case on March 11. This is a slight increase of two cases.
