NANAIMO — Three vehicle owners have discovered their vehicles vandalized in the past 48 hours in the Diver Lake area.

Police said the series of crimes began sometime between Monday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 21 in front of a home in the 2600 block of Willowgrouse Cres. All four tires were slashed and the door panels keyed.

The second reported incident took place at the intersection of Starlight Trail and Pheasant Terrace on Tuesday evening where again, all four tires were slashed.

Finally, an SUV in the 2600 block of Rosstown Rd. had tires slashed and door panels keyed overnight on Wednesday, April 22.

“It’s not a stretch to think it’s probably the same person or a group of individuals who are responsible for this,” Cst. Gary O’Brien said.

Police have put out a public call for help.

“This is malicious vandalism costing thousands of dollars,” O’Brien said. “We have no suspects, there were no witnesses, we talked to the owners and they haven’t had any ongoing conflicts with any neighbours or clients.”

If anyone has any information, they’re asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP.
