NANAIMO — Passengers travelling on BC Ferries vessels will now be able to remain in their vehicles while on board, no matter where they’re parked on the ship.

On Monday, March 16, Premier John Horgan announced the change after Transport Canada agreed to relax their previously imposed regulations.

Under the existing rules, passengers parked on lower, or closed decks would be required to move up to the passenger deck.

“This is an important measure for to continue safely connecting our communities for the people who need it at this time,” Horgan said in a tweet on Monday.
