‘Feminism means equality for all:’ Nanaimo women and families march through downtown

NANAIMO — Dozens of colourful and clever signs were carried through downtown Nanaimo for the fourth annual women’s march.

The event, held on International Women’s Day, was a chance for supporters to come together, share their stories of being a woman in an increasingly difficult world and build a community.

Kerri Isham, who attended with her family, said taking part in the march helps her feel hopeful for the future.

“I really believe that we all need to be treated equally. I want people to have equal pay, equal opportunities and for women to be safer in the world.
