More than 1,800 toys donated during 11th annual Tigh-Na-Mara Toy Drive

PARKSVILLE — Hundreds of families will be able to have something under their tree this year.

More than 1,800 unwrapped toys were donated Wednesday at the 11th annual Tigh-Na-Mara Toy Drive.

Those toys will now be handed out through the Caring for Community at Christmas program, run by the Society of Organized Services.

Roughly $13,600 was also accepted in cash and gift cards, which are used to help struggling families enjoy the holiday season and have food on the table.

The total is slightly less than what was received in 2018.
