NANAIMO – An early goal against didn’t deter the Clippers in their 2-1 victory over Prince George.

Corey Cunningham scored on a deflection early in the first period to give the visitors a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Steven Agriogianis tallied in early in the second and the game stayed that way deep into the final period because of the strong goaltending of Jett Alexander and the Clippers Jordan Naylor.

Travis Walton tipped home a Mike Kennedy point shot in the back half of the third period to give Nanaimo an eight straight win.

The final shots finished 44-27 in favour of the Clippers in a game that had a great pace and featured some solid body contact, especially from a line featuring Walton, Tim Washe, and Liam Ryan.

Nanaimo will visit Cowichan Valley on Nov. 22 in a battle of the two top teams in the Island Division.

They haven’t played since opening night when the Capitals won 2-0, but seven of the Clippers final 31 games will be against the Capitals.
