Ferry worker injured on Queen of Cowichan hospitalized, 2 sailings cancelled

NANAIMO — An accident on the vehicle deck of a Nanaimo bound ferry sent a BC Ferries worker to hospital.

BC Ferries spokesperson Chelsea Carlson told NanaimoNewsNOW the female worker was injured by the Queen of Cowichan’s bow door as the vessel was about to leave Horseshoe Bay on Saturday, Oct. 19 at about 8:25 a.m.

The circumstances of the incident weren’t immediately clear, Carlson said.

“We are conducting a full investigation into the incident and WorkSafe BC will be investigating as well.”
