Family fun on the agenda for annual Minetown Day celebration in Lantzville

LANTZVILLE — An annual tradition in Lantzville returns as the community pays tribute to its coal mining roots.

Minetown Day takes over Lantzville on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m.

The free event includes complimentary RDN transit on the #11 Lantzville route and a special Minetown Day bus route.

Minetown Day Itinerary

• 8:30 a.m.: Brunch hosted by Royal Canadian Legion 257 at 7227 Lantzville Rd.
• 10:30 a.m.: Minetown Day Parade starts on Lantzville Rd. north of Ware Rd., proceeding north and turns right on Huddlestone Rd. The parade route will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m.
• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m: Family fun at Huddlestone Park, featuring bouncy castles, food vendors, rides and entertainment.
