$5 million lottery ticket sold in Nanaimo

NANAIMO — Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Nanaimo is about to get a major payday.

A ticket purchased in the harbour city is a match for the $5 million Wednesday, Aug. 21 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The lottery corporation noted it matched the numbers on the same day the largest BCLC ticket was claimed at $60 million.

More details about where the ticket was purchased will be released once the winner claims their prize.

They have one year from the draw date printed on their ticket to claim their prize.
