NANAIMO — Four people died in a float plane crash on B.C.’s central coast on Friday, July 26.

Lt. Chelsea Dubeau of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre said a Cessna 208 float plane crashed on Addenbroke Island, located about 100 kilometres north of Port Hardy.

“We can say that the weather was poor and the visibility low,” Dubeau said.

B.C. Emergency Health Services said two of the survivors are in critical condition and were flown to Vancouver for treatment, while three people aboard were listed in serious but stable condition.
