Road closure allows City to upgrade vital infrastructure on Bruce Avenue

NANAIMO — A major route in the Harewood neighbourhood will be closed for the rest of the summer for planned utility upgrades and construction.

Bruce Ave. between Pine St. and Fourth St. will be shut down until the fall starting on Tuesday, July 16.

City of Nanaimo crews have a long list of projects for the area, with upgrades to the water main and sanitary and storm sewer drains top of the list.

New concrete curbs and sidewalks, along with various safety upgrades will also be completed including with the installation of LED street lighting.
