Nanaimo’s Josh Burgmann drafted by Chicago Cubs

NANAIMO — The Chicago Cubs drafted a pitcher from the harbour city in the fifth round of the Major League Baseball draft.

Right-hander Josh Burgmann, 21, of the Washington State Huskies was picked 162nd overall on Tuesday.

Burgmann finished the 2019 regular season tied for second in the Pac-12 with 101 strikeouts.
