NANAIMO — A man was sentenced to 240 days in jail for a shocking Christmas day break-and-enter where a home was stripped of its presents.

Justin Redmond Feusse, 20, pleaded guilty to numerous charges Tuesday at provincial court in Nanaimo prior to being sentenced.

Court records showed Feusse was ordered to pay back $3,200 worth of valuables he stole from the Stonewater Dr. home while the homeowners slept upstairs.

He turned himself into police in early January following intense public scrutiny, while co-accused Axel Lambert will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty to a break-and-enter charge.

Having been in custody since Jan. 3, he was credited for time already served.

Feusse was also handed 18-months probation and a lifetime firearms ban.

He pleaded guilty to several other charges primarily related to property crimes and drug offences in Nanaimo.
