Taps turned on early at Nanaimo water parks

NANAIMO — A blast of hot weather means an early opening for Nanaimo’s water parks to help youngsters cool down.

The City announced Friday the four popular water parks are open now, as opposed to the May long weekend when they typically open.

The three primary water parks are located at Deverill Square Park, Departure Bay Park and Harewood Centential Park with a smaller water feature at Mansfield Park.

The water parks are estimated to attract between 500 and 1,500 children daily.
