Supporters prepare for gut-wrenching trial in death of beloved Gabriola Island man
NANAIMO — A high-profile dangerous driving causing death case which rocked the Gabriola Island community is slated to go to trial.
William Goosman’s lawyer motioned Tuesday morning to have his client’s case proceed to a Supreme Court trial.
Goosman was allegedly driving the vehicle which hit and killed popular Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department member Jay Dearman, 58, on Jan. 24, 2018.
A procedural hearing is now scheduled for March 19 as part of the process towards determining a trial date.
