Consistently crash-prone Nanaimo intersections listed as some of V.I.’s worst
NANAIMO — For the fifth year in a row, the intersection of Bowen Rd. and the Island Highway ranked as one of Vancouver Island’s worst intersections.
There were 71 incidents at the busy spot in 2017, placing it fourth on ICBC’s recently released list of the worst intersections.
The total number of crashes is slightly down from 2016, when it came in third. Bowen Rd. and the Island Highway have never fallen below sixth place on the list in the last five years.
It was joined on the list by two other consistently terrible intersections in Nanaimo, both also involving the Island Highway.
