Nanaimo RCMP release picture of suspected VIU bike thieves

NANAIMO — Police in Nanaimo hope video surveillance footage and tips from the public can help them track down a pair of suspected bike thieves.
Nanaimo RCMP released surveillance pictures of a man and woman suspected of stealing an expensive mountain bike from a locked area at Vancouver Island University around 2 a.m. on Nov. 29.
Police said the man used bolt cutters to snip the lock on a yellow Peugot bike and the pair walked away with the bike, which had a flat tire.
The woman was carrying a tan coloured backpack, while the man had a goatee and mustache and was wearing a red hat, police said.
