No injuries in early morning targeted shooting on Prideaux St.
NANAIMO — One man is in custody after a targeted shooting early Saturday morning near downtown Nanaimo.
Police said the suspect was arrested shortly after 6:30 a.m. near the 400 block of Prideaux St. He’s accused of firing a shotgun at a parked car on the street before speeding away.
“At this point, it appears to be a targeted, isolated incident,” RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW. “However, our investigation is continuing, overseen by our serious crime unit. If there’s a risk to the public we will advise them in due course.”
O’Brien confirmed there were no injuries.
