Clippers earn first preseason win against Powell River

NANAIMO — The Clippers beat the Powell River Kings on Sunday to improve their preseason record to 1-2.  

More accurately Nanaimo is 1-1-0-1 with a shootout loss in their first exhibition game to Victoria.

The game was tied scoreless after 20 minutes, then the Clippers forged ahead 2-0 in the second period on goals by Tyler Williams and Marcus Mitchell.

In the third the Kings came back to tie the game, including getting the tying goal in the waning moments with their goalie pulled.
