Driver airlifted to hospital after crash in Nanoose Bay
NANAIMO — Two people were hurt when a vehicle went off Hwy. 19 in the Nanoose Bay area.
Central Island Traffic Services RCMP Sgt. Darrin Ramey said it happened at 7:25 Monday morning on the Nanoose Hill near Ross Rd.
He told NanaimoNewsNOW the southbound vehicle may have hydroplaned.
“The vehicle lost control on the highway, went into the ditch and rolled,” Ramey said. “The driver was pinned in the vehicle and had a head injury and the passenger sustained only a minor hand injury.”
