NANAIMO — Classes at Nanaimo District Secondary School were disrupted after a bomb threat was made in graffiti.

Assistant Superintendent of secondary Schools Scott Saywell told NanaimoNewsNOW the “worrisome graffiti pertaining to a bomb threat” was discovered and the school was then evacuated Tuesday morning.

Saywell couldn’t clarify details about what was in the graffiti but confirmed it was a low-level threat. “We make the decision to evacuate the school with an abudance of caution,” he said.

The threat was found to be non-credible by Nanaimo RCMP and district staff and students were back inside by 12:15.
