Serious Qualicum beach motorcycle crash sends pair to hospital

QUALICUM BEACH — A motorcycle was destroyed and two people taken to hospital after a serious single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Qualicum Beach.
Central Island Traffic Services RCMP Sgt. Darren Ramey said the bike went off highway 19A near Cortes Rd. at about 9 p.m. Tuesday night.
“It had lost control and both were taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with minor to moderate injuries,” Ramey told NanaimoNewsNOW.
He said the highway was briefly shut down as crews cleaned up the scene.
