Clippers strong in 2-1 road win over Cowichan Valley
DUNCAN — They were short manned on defense but the Nanaimo Clippers still earned a 2-1 road victory in Cowichan Valley on Tuesday.
Nanaimo played the game with only five defensemen but it was an impressive team effort from top to bottom.
The first period was scoreless thanks to solid goaltending from the Capitals Lane Michasiw and the Clippers Evan DeBrouwer.
In the second Matt Creamer scored on a breakaway to give Nanaimo the lead, and then Tate Coughlin ripped home a wrist shot on the power play to extend the lead to 2-0.
