Sentencing date set for Nanaimo mill shooter

NANAIMO — A sentencing date for convicted Nanaimo mill shooter Kevin Addison has been confirmed for December 2.

The date was solidified on Monday during a brief hearing in a Nanaimo courtroom.

Crown Prosecutor Nick Barber says victim impact statements will be read during the sentencing hearing, which he anticipates will take most of the day.

He adds that Addison will have the opportunity to make a statement if he so desires.

The 50-year-old Addison was found guilty by a jury of two counts of first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder following a three week trial that wrapped up in late-September.
