Nanaimo Car-Share expands to Qualicum Beach

The Nanaimo Car-Share program has made its way to Qualicum Beach.

A sixth car in the fleet is now parked in downtown Qualicum Beach. Now members are needed to make the car sharing program flourish in the community.

Ken Walker, a Qualicum Beach Lawyer and director with Nanaimo Car-Share, says there are many benefits to being a member.

“There’s lots of people around that need a car once in a while, but don’t need one all the time. Studies show that ridership on transit increases when there’s car share,” Walker said.

Memberships are $250 or $500, and more information is available at nanaimocarshare.ca.
