A report of a flasher at a popular Nanaimo park is under RCMP investigation.

Police say it happened on Monday, May 30th during the noon-hour on the Participark walking trail at Beban Park.

RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien says a woman was running on the trail and a man tried to engage her in conversation.

“She ignored him and at one point she ran past him and he exposed his genitalia to her,” said O’Brien.

He says the woman left the area and quickly called 911, which is the right thing to do.

“Try to remove yourself as quickly as possible and do not engage that person in conversation.”

The suspect is described as First Nations, between 40 and 50 years old with a medium build.

He was wearing dark, possibly brown clothing, with a baseball cap and sunglasses at the time.
