Ask the right questions, get the right answers

Sometimes the answers come in the form of brilliant questions.

We are often so eager to seek solutions, we forget to ask questions that might lead us to some creative ideas that will really work for us. Investing a bit of time prior to doing the actual solving could show a huge pay off in the future and save you from big mistakes and wasted time.

Coaching is all about asking thought-provoking questions that encourage you to go beyond the surface of your issue. What if you just took some time to gain a better understanding of where you are now and consider what questions you could ask yourself that might help you gain better awareness and perspective.

Teach yourself (and your children) to ask questions before seeking solutions. You will no doubt come up with your own brilliant questions but here are a few to get you started.

Do I have the knowledge, experience and resources to deal with this issue? Who do I know who does?

Am I making this into a bigger deal than it really is?

What resources are available to me?

Can I live with the answer?

What can I do to make myself aware?

How can I access resources?

Who will be there to support me?

What are my limits?

What can I do to make a change?

What makes me happy?

What are my needs?

Why does that issue bother me so deeply?

What do I need to change? What do I want to change?

What are my limits?

What can I do without?

What can I change?

What do I think is my biggest barrier? Is it really?

What are my attitudes towards my abilities, worth, importance, my environment, those around me?

Do I have a positive attitude?

Am I kind to myself?

What compromises do I need to make?

How do I find (make) more time?

What hurdles/barriers are blocking me from the changes that I want?

What am I tolerating?

That should keep you going for awhile, but if you want more, you are welcome to download my complimentary Guided E-Journal. It is chalk full of questions to help you think differently and it’s complemented with inspiring quotes.

Enjoy getting to know yourself a bit better and watch your life grow froward. Remember, the answers are all in the questions!
