Man claims to have gun, robs Terminal Park bank

NANAIMO — Police in Nanaimo are searching for a suspect who claimed he had a gun while robbing a bank.

Nanaimo RCMP said a man walked into the TD Canada Trust in Terminal Park Shopping Centre on Saturday, Feb. 17 around 3:40 p.m. The man said he had a gun in his pocket, was handed some cash and walked out.

He was last seen heading south through the mall parking lot.

Despite responding within minutes, police said they could not find any trace of the suspect.

Mounties said the suspect is white, heavy set and in his 40s with a deep voice. He’s 5’10”, with dark hair, a goatee and mustache. He was wearing a brown jacket, dark gloves and a dark hat with a logo.
