Mid-island municipalities offer up skating, swimming as Family Day options

NANAIMO —  If you’re looking for something to do this Family Day, there are activities around the mid-island region to take advantage of.

The Nanaimo Aquatic Centre will have an everyone welcome swim from 12 to 6 p.m. Staff will be leading family-oriented activities from 1 to 3 p.m.

At the Nanaimo Ice Centre there’s a full schedule of options. Everyone Welcome 12 to 1:30 p.m., Parent & Tot 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., everyone Welcome 1:45 to 3:15 p.m., Stick ‘n’ Puck 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. and again 2:45 to 3:45 p.m.

There’s free swimming offered in the town of Ladysmith from 12 to 3:30 p.m.

The Regional District of Nanaimo is offering free skate and swim events at Oceanside Place Arena and the Ravensong Aquatic Centre. Swim hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., skating hours are 1 to 5 p.m.
