Body found in central Nanaimo construction site

NANAIMO — Mounties are investigating after a man’s body was found at a construction site near the corner of Townsite Rd. and Bowen Rd.

Nanaimo RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien said the body was found by employees around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

“While it does not appear that the death is suspicious, it’s only early in the investigation and it is continuing,” O’Brien said.

O’Brien would not release any further information. He said the BC Coroners Service is working jointly with RCMP.
