NANAIMO — The high school football season came to an end for two local teams Saturday afternoon,  with the NDSS Islanders being crowned BC High School Football Champions.

The Islanders beat John Barsby 23-0 in the Junior Varsity Double A Subway Bowl at BC Place. The win marks the first ever high school football title for NDSS.

In the BCHL, the Nanaimo Clippers fell 4-3 in double overtime to the Cowichan Valley Capitals Saturday night in Duncan. The Clippers will be back in action Wednesday when they host Victoria. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena.
