Arbitrator rejects Montreal receiver Carter’s appeal of one game-suspension

TORONTO — An independent arbitrator has rejected receiver Duron Carter’s appeal of the one-game suspension he received for bumping into Ottawa Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell during a game earlier this season.

The CFL announced the arbitrator’s decision Monday.

The league suspended Carter for one game following the incident in Ottawa’s 28-13 win over Montreal on June 30. But the Montreal receiver appealed the ruling, making him eligible to continue playing until the arbitrator rendered a decision.

Carter was hit hard making a TD grab in the third quarter of the contest. As he walked by the Ottawa bench, he bumped into Campbell, knocking him over.
