Toronto FC midfielder Jay Chapman and forward Jordan Hamilton and Montreal Impact goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau have been chosen to play in the 2016 Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game, designed to showcase the league’s young talent.
The homegrown MLS players, coached by former U.S. star Landon Donovan, will take on the Mexico under-20 national team July 27 at Avaya Stadium as part of the MLS all-star game festivities.
Earthquakes midfielder Tommy Thompson, the club’s first homegrown player signing, will make his third straight appearance in the game. The roster also includes Seattle and U.S. international forward Jordan Morris.
MLS homegrown players aged 23 or under were available for selection. Eleven MLS clubs are represented on the 20-man roster.
