Earthquake Cottage at Multiplex

An earthquake preparedness program hits Port Alberni today.

The BC Earthquake Alliance will be setting up their earthquake cottage so people can feel what it’s like to experience a magnitude 8 quake.

Teron Moore, the Vice-president of the BCEA says the event is about education and preparation

“What would it look like to be better prepared and how can I make one next step to make myself just that much more prepared for that eventual earthquake that is not a matter of if, but a matter of when,” he said.

The earthquake cottage will be set up at the Alberni Multiplex this afternoon from 1 to 4 pm.
